V4 V4 R Track Fairing Kit (upper)

  1. No pictures at the moment as my car was full of wheel barrow so no room for the large box. For those looking at the R track fairing kit (either for their V4/S or V4R) the upper fairing kit cost £495+vat and comprises, unpainted composite nose fairing, black plastic headlight blank/air runner, 2 unpainted composite side panels, unpainted composite seat panel, shiny black plastic rear light unit blank, unpainted composite battery box/tank cover and a fixings kit. Frustratingly, the kit does NOT come with wings. It would appear that Ducati expect you to use the wings that came with your V4R, which of course if you have a V4/S you won’t have  If you want wings from Ducati, expect to cough up approximately £1100 for the pair ! As genuine panels, the quality of them is, as you would expect, very good and the workshop anticipate no problems with fitting (unlike some after market panels). I chose the V4R track fairing over the V4/S because it is quite a lot wider which, I am advised, is better for someone my size :D
Just a note if you do look to the aftermarket for wings, buy them for the road version of the V4R. The V4RS has an entirely different upper fairing set up with the wings fitting to an extended nose cone fairing not the side fairings and the wing fixing points are also different. Andy

  2. Quick update. There are 2 brackets on the V4R fairing that are not on the V4/S fairing. It is not obvious from the parts diagram if they are required to fit the race fairing to the V4/S but I have ordered them just in case. Andy

  3. hi Andy, where did you purchase v4r track fairing kit..cheeers Gez

  4. Through my Ducati dealer. I ordered both the upper and lower kits in February when I found out that they had appeared in the Accessories catalogue. Andy

  5. who's your ducati dealer....

  6. Moto Rapido in Winchester. Andy

  7. thanks Andy..

  8. Another difference just discovered, the V4/V4S double bubble race screen does not fit the V4R front nose panel. The fixing hole spacing is just a little bit different. Andy

  9. Is this the kit you bought Andy?

  13. Andy did your fairings come with all the sound deadening panels and internal fixings or did you have to purchase them separately?

  14. No sound deadening but full kit of fasteners except the 4VR unique one that I purchased separately. The lowers did come with the heat reflecting panels. Andy

  15. Could I ask how approx how much it cost to have the track fairings painted? Did you arrange through your dealer or did you go straight to a paint shop?

    Cheers, James.

  16. Hi James. Over time, I have established a working relationship with 2 different paint shops for different jobs. As I wanted Ducati Anniversary red to match, I went to a Ducati specialist. Depending on how much preparation they'll have to do and how many colours you want I'd expect to pay about £500 for a single colour on all the fairing pieces. Andy

  17. That’s great, thanks for the info Andy.

  18. OK thanks fo the info Andy, very useful to know. Looks like I might have to order more parts.

  19. Just learned that a pair of V4R wings, manufactured out of a significantly cheaper type of plastic, have been added to the accessories catalogue which is great news if you are running the V4R track fairing kit like me. Not available to order yet but I’ll update as soon as I’m told that they are. Andy

  20. Thanks for the info Andy, sadly I have already bought a pair in carbon (only had to sell a kidney to get them!) but nice to know there are other options.
