On ebay,,,,,,Any good to you https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Motorbike-Trailer/202655117640?hash=item2f2f2fb148:g:QaoAAOSwLDdctdUg
I need to get a single bike trailer at some point but don’t have much in the way of storage space, so I was going to get one of those collapsable ones, any one on here had any experience of them?
I have a motolug and use it quite a bit. As with any collapsible / folding trailer you have the slight flaff of putting it together/ taking apart, but that is more than made up of its convenience of storage. I keep mine in the garden shed. It’s components are compact enough to fit in the back of my wife’s Honda Jazz yet it takes my BMW adventure. Doesn’t like being towed unloaded, and I don’t feel that it’s as secure if you were parked up as it’s all capable of being dismantled. Even with a hitch lock, you’d be left with the hitch attached if someone was determined enough to steal it. That all said, to me with limited space, the only alternative is hiring a van or trailer. Motolug every time
If you are planning to do a lot of miles per year, get one with at least 13" wheels. Smaller wheels are wearing the tyre and bearings at a much quicker pace. I had a light trailer with 10" wheels, done a trip to Austria and back and the bearings/tyres where shot, bought a Brenderup MC2 with 13" wheels, that will tow all day long at 75-80mph when out in Europe...no bearing or tyre wear after 10k miles/2 years.
I have the Motolug 2 bike trailer, it can be set up as 1 or 2 bikes. Doesn’t take long to set up or strip out and is really easy to Load/unload. They are not the cheapest but is definitely the best bike trailer I’ve used.
Just a simple little single bike galvanised trailer, not huge, but I’ve had a 999R on it before. Not posh but not expensive either...
Yep, we've got two. A Single / Double (build as you need) and a single one.... Awesome bits of kit. You CANNOT tow them without a bike on them!! That's not a problem, as you just partially disassemble and put into the boot. Helps to have two people to assemble, but not 100% necessary. Strong... I'd put two Mutleys on one.... I think I paid about £1000 a few years back.. Top tip, get a canvas bag with a toggle neck to keep all the bits in and 20 reusable ty-wraps. https://www.motolug.com/ This is a 5 star recommendation from Mr. AirCon.
For the non collapsing type trailers has anyone mounted an additional “box body” on top to use as a general use trailer when the bike isn’t mounted. I’ve seen that Erde sell a CH451 multi purpose chassis, which you can add bike racks to. But can’t see the option of adding a box on top? Could be a sensible idea.
