Was a bit slack, not by much though. Honestly if someone had said it would have that much of an effect I’d have been sceptical. Been chasing this weave since I got the bike, it was manifesting at 115 plus and by 120 was quite pronounced. Now 135+ is solid. Gets a bit of a weave above that, but I can live with that. Feels a lot more planted in the bends too.
Not so. Chains always have tight and loose spots, so they don’t run evenly. A loose chain will move more, with a regular period, so those shifting forces will transmit themselves through the suspension, so it’s entirely plausible that a weave would result.
The only weave I've experienced on mine is with the original screen and a pillion. It seemed to create a pool of air between us, almost like a pressure build up, changed the screen and bingo, all good. It felt like someone was pushing the back of my helmet. Taking the top box off certainly affects the way it feels at high speeds. The only difference I've ever noticed on chain tension would be a more positive gear change. No false neutrals.
