Same here. Showa BPF forks on my z1000 were removable (then added machined spacers) to then bolt my HPK's on....
if he stays with 310 discs then the shoulder will need to be removed not spaced or the pads will be out of align with the disc
isnt there a later gsxrzxR1 thing that has 320 discs on with the correct offset at a cheaper price than brembo RT.. and while we are at it, whats the benefit even with a master cylinder change couldn't you get the better feel with std set up and different master cylinder..
I had the same setup as cookster on a K8 750. There is a guy on ebay that makes spacers to any size if you need them.
The original Tokico calipers are crap on Suzuki and the yam swap makes a big improvement. M4's even more so.
True, but shear if the faces slip during heavy braking, but these shoulders prevent movement and any shear stress directly on the bolts.
I want to fit R1 gold spot on my GSXR 750 k8. If I don't need to change the discs I won't. I will be upgrading the master at the same time, just deciding on best bore and make/model. I've read I need to space out the caliper from the fork 2mm but won't be 100% till I have them on the bike, hopefully Sunday. Question was what the purpose of the shoulder was so I could decide to remove, file down, etc, depending on the situation I find myself in Sunday.
I should end up with something very similar to this: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/312623561362
I used the double shouldered ones on my 750 after twisting out the original collar as shown in your first picture. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4x-2-5mm...m1a7b124427:g:Y~4AAOSwqlFan~9V&frcectupt=true https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4x-2-5mm...250130?hash=item1ca25f78d2:g:dOsAAOSwWY5akCHL
@Sev there only cheap ebay indicators mate, they were on on the bike when I got it, its got track fairings on now. if your after some you can have mine as ive still got the originals if I ever put it back on the road. ??
@Cream_Revenge mate in not running any spacers or dowels on my calipers, just tighten um up and lock wire them.
@Sev yes they work, they could do with some proper built connectors on there as they came with just the wires wound together but they do work you after any other k2 stuff as I got boxes and boxes of it, doubt mine will ever go back on the road now. plus im going to strip the wire loom out of it next year too. pm me if you want save cluttering the thread up
Gixer ones pull out. Its just a locator pin really. I added regular spacers to mine when I used the larger discs, no problem.
