I have swapped the boot lid over on my old vdub, and the fella before had a GT3 badge on it and I just want to have my Carrera badge on there. You can see the outline still, and its caused as if it was lacquered over (but I don't think it was). Whats best to remove? Good old fashioned t-cut? Any solvent type stuff that would make it easier? Thanks
I’d go with t-cut but be gentle to start with ...... but I’m sure there is a certain someone on her with better knowledge
Have a look at a toffee wheel, seen them used on TV many times. On Amazon for £6 butI’m sure you’ll get one from Halfrauds.
I’ll take a pic later, but it’s like a later of paint has been added on the edge. I think it’s just whatever they used to fix the badge
The picture isn't that clear bradders? might be worth giving a shout out to Rob in the detailing section?
@bradders did you see my thread https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/posts/1379357/ ? There was all sorts of crap on the bike and we used gunk, petrol, paint stripper, white spirit & nail polish remover. Not all mixed together of course, just some were better at some things than others. Hopefully this will work for you too.
I tentatively tried a bit of white spirit on a cloth, but it’s the lip that’s the issue. Fear either aggressive rubbing (risk damage to paintwork) or a different badge. It’s not a GT3 and I don’t want to badge as one.
