  1. Agree, I would like to think I could own and ride a 916SPS like any other bike but I'm sure it would end up either a garage queen or 'the uncomfortable bike I don't use so much anymore but needs a good clean'.
Leave them in the Guggenheim museum where they look good and stick with cheaper versions that you don't mind abusing :upyeah:

  2. The looks of the 916 is one thing that most agree is stunning, it is also the easiest sports bike to work on, removing fairings for a start.

  3. tbf, i dont have anything like the ducati product knowladge as most on here. but a nut is a nut and a bolt is a bolt. i'v never ridden one and probably never will. but if it takes less than an hour to find the rad cap, i could be persuaded.

  7. I'm 5'8 ins in height, 13.5 stones and coming up to my 76th. birthday.
I still use my 748 as often as possible.
One problem I had was the fact that, having short arms, I had to stretch too far over the tank and it hurt the base of my ribcage. The answer came from a thread on this forum about 5 years ago. Swap the handlebars over to give extra rise. The only alteration is that you have to drill another hole in each one for the retaining peg.
This cured my problem and I now find it more comfortable than my M750 Monster.

  8. You can strip all the plastics off a 916 in 10mins easily, inc airbox.

  9. Does that make it prettier?

  11. They are not, not even close. Furthermore when you put them next to each other there is a HUGE difference in fit an finish, bespoke parts on the MV vs the parts bin Ducati, the weldings terrible on the Duc. Probably the biggest difference is up close, you can see how ''fine'' the design of the MV was, the Duc is clumsy by comparison. lts really like one was drawn by the master, and one by the student..............or one was practice. But actually put the two together and look at them for a long while (Canadian winters are good for this) lts apparent.

  12. Nice Welsh wellies.

How can we take your opinion on style seriously, when you wear footwear like that.

  13. I think you will find the poll we did was about 50:50, but as a race bike the 999 is generally considered to be the best looking as well as being the most successful. Yes the 916 is one of the best ever, but not necessarily the best in the majority of opinions :eyes: and it wouldn't have been penned / conceived without the NR750

  14. They are the from Alpinestars ''Country Gent'' line you Philistine ;)

  15. l dont know how ocularly fucking challenged you would have to be to put 999 and good looking together in the same sentence, to Australian level probably .

  18. LMFAO...................have you noticed how 999 owners never post a set of pictures that include a head on shot..................... i wonder why Oh, thats it, you would have to be fucking BLIND to think that was anything other than gopping. ......and dont even get me started on the back, Kim Kardasians arse has a better proportions .

  19. As a racer the 999 looks fine... As a road bike IT DOESN'T.

  20. Both 916 and 999 Bi posta's look a bit pants, but that wasn't the initial design intent. Some don't like the headlights on the 999 - although several other makes are finally copying the design 15 years on, most don't like the minging wheels on the original 916, it's swing and roundabouts.
The 999 as a race bike was deffo better looking than the 916 and this it the representation of the bikes in their pursest form, so fare to compare at this level.
