How the hell do I get the connector off at the top where the brake feed line goes on? Need to replace it before the weekend, have the new mudguard but can’t get that tiny clip undone!
@cookster Oh great, so without a riveting thingy then, there’s no way of simply replacing the mudguard?
^ I think you are right in your case, like-for-like O.E.M./ guard ought to come with the clip on I would have thought?
give me strength..............drill out the rivet and replace with a rivet! If you haven't got a rivet thingy....put a M4 bolt and nut in it either temporary or permanent. ( pay attention to the length of the bolt!) In fact you'll probably find the pipe will sit there regardless of a retaining clip.
That's quite funny with mine I could never get the dammed line to sit in the clip for any length of time, it just always popped out. That said the line just sat there a few inches above the mudguard unsupported and was never a problem (mudguard is a bit of a Euphemism) I replaced mine years ago with a race line kit. The double banjos on one side of the front wheel made it a PIA to get the caliper off.
My double line hoses have the double banjo at the master cylinder and full length lines to each caliper. No double banjo at the caliper however the double banjo at the bar end requires careful positioning of the master cylinder. Rivetty thingy is surplus to requirements.
