1200 Very High Idle

  1. All of a sudden today in hot weather and traffic, revs wouldn't drop below 3500. Nightmare in traffic. Now will idle proper till warm then back up to 3000ish. Any ideas? 2013 1200s 45000mls.

  2. If you start it and just let it warm up without reving it, does idle stay down or does it rise as it gets up to temperature.

  3. Had something similar and it turned out to be sticky throttle bodies, not enough lube applied at the factory apparently. Repaired under warranty. Not good being stuck around 3000 rpm with termi’s and no baffles!

  4. Pretty sure idle stays low until throttle is applied. Only had time to try it once cold. Dropped off at rosso Corsa for Marcus to have a butchers. Fingers crossed he can see an error code. Didn't get one on the display on bike. Fingers crossed. Again. Had more niggles in 35000miles on this than any other bike. I know. They all do that.

  5. On my 2015 I got a high idle on a trip,, usually high altitude. Got home dealer put in on computer, cleared any codes, and removed the Duc ee. They said Duc ee causing problems. No problems since.

  6. Could be what whisky said. Sounds like something sticking.Hope it's not expensive!

  7. MAP sensor fault showing. Fingers crossed that's the culprit

  8. Well it wasn't the culprit. Suspected leak at manifold rubber. Anyone know if I'll need a tps reset or anything else electronic having had throttle bodies off?

  9. Just in case anyone is watching this. Culprit was split manifold rubber.

  10. Same thing on my ENDURO...the 2" long rear MAP hose was heat perished after only 30,000 miles and full of cracks.

  11. Mine too. I wonder if the rubber can't withstand extreme temp changes? Do you ride all year round. I do.
