It seems the price madness shows no signs of levelling out. I wont link this one, despite the fairing its a mono bike (black frame,single shock) with an £8,750 starting price which is the highest I've seen for a mono.
Yep this is what happens I guess - once one person puts a rareish item up for megabucks it tempts others out of the woodwork to put theirs up. Be interesting to see if this actually sells - unlike the Portuguese SC that failed to make reserve. Someone told me that the MCN had an article on rocketing SC prices a few weeks ago - anyone see it?
Can't see that making the £8,750 asking price, that'll scare a buyer off. I see the Portugese bike is back on sale, that bombed out at £9,100 without reaching reserve last time round. I'd say that a mint 1000s is probably worth it's original price at new at the moment. However if the market wants to pay more
This all reminds me of a 'bubble' that happened about two years ago with Moto Guzzi 750 S3s... Out of nowhere one was advertised for £8k on Ebay... a fantastic price at the time. Over the course of the next two months three more came on to Ebay , all in the £7k to £8k price range ( they are quite rare in the UK so this alone was unusual ). Last month a very good one came on Ebay at only £5k... ...and failed to sell!
