Hi eveyone, So i got this problem with my Hypermotard 939 MY18 I went for a little roadtrip and after a break i put my key in the bike and as soon i turned it to the right my horn started making noice? I took my key out and it still was going making noice. So as a quick solution i took on of the wires of the horn. I did a little research on the fuses checkes them. The only way the horn will stop if i took of the fuse (thats the same as the dash) or when i disconnect the LCD Did any of you had this problem yet? It’s not the switch or my headlight because i disconnected them and the horn stays on making noice. I’m going to call the dealer this tuesday buthoping do get some help from you guys Thank you! Jim
As you've found the horn isn't operated directly by the button but gets 12V from the dash when the horn button is pushed. The dash sends 5V to the LH switchgear (on a red/blue wire if it is the same as the Supersport 939). When the button is pressed the 5V is output onto the blue/white (?) wire back to the dash. So, either there is 5V on the blue/white wire when there shouldn't be, possibly due to a wiring fault, or the dash is faulty.
Thanks for the quick answer! This is something to check, someone told me that the hypermotard had a canbus system so the problem could be everywhere Hope i’ll find the problem before tuesday
A 2018 model? Why worry, I’d be dimpling disconnecting one or both of the wires from the actual horn (so I could ride it) then inviting my friendly nearby dealer to get busy!
That’s true! And i have another 3 years warranty on my ducati but i thought if i can fix it myself would be great to. So if anybody had this same problem please let me know. And if i or the dealer will find out what it was i will let you guy’s know
