So which trackday bodywork to buy? cheap chinese stuff or aviofibre, QB Carbon, or maybe pro-fibre? Other? plus what's the difference between superstock and superbike kits? I assume the SS kit will be a direct fit?
Not interested in carbon for the track if I'm honest, the whole point is to save the original kit if I had a tumble so buying carbon over fiberglass doesn't make sense to me
If weight saving is not an issue (Carbon, kevlar, aviofibre) Just get a cheap fibreglass fiaring kit. The chinese cheap ones dont have a fully enclosed (correct me if I am wrong) belly pan, just road style fairings. Cheapish pre-pregnated glass fibre fairings also can be repaired easily enough with halfords stylee home glassing kits.
I do a few track days on a r6 and had a spill last year fairings cost me around £300.00 to replace.i hope to take the panigale to a private day were 15 of us have the track to ourselves so I can feel my way into to the panigale but if I come of it I will just shoot myself. give John Hackett ducati Coventry a call as they race the panigales mate just bought a race one from him.
I have helped fit a CRC kit to a challenge 848. It was decent quality and is what I wil get for my next set of race bodywork for the 853. The seat pad included in the 848/1098/1198 kit lifts more at the front, stopping the rider sliding forward so much. And aviofibre is nice n light.
Yes i have some for my 848,great fit, next day delivery, these are not the thick fibreglass type, very lightweight,i dont think you will find much better for the money.
Point taken about track work and bodywork costs but if you pani owners are looking for something special then contact Martin Reece at Ducati Glasgow. He's got a CF body work kit on his and its gorgeous. Might be big bucks though.
I know Martin very well had more than a few drunken nights with him, but I'm not interested in carbon
this guy is doing my carbon set... http://www.facebook.com/#!/media/set/?set=a.537506719615771.122526.403981619634949&type=1 2 buddies of mine have thi set and it's good quality...
I think QB are doing JHP's fairings Jon. Ian was into the moulds very early on after the introduction last year.
