hi ive just got new spark plugs for my ss and it wont spark i put it next to the frame and it sparks on there :frown:
Hi I don't think it's flooded I took the plugs out and turned the bike over and I carnt see a spark on both plugs but if I put it next to the frame it sparks on to the frame many thanks dan
Don't touch the throttle when trying to start an SS............................just set the choke (if it is cold enough to need it) and prees the button. AL
I actually had this problem and it took me ages to figure it out but are they gapped correctly? (not meaning to sound patronising)
hang on Daniel - when you say 'won't spark' - are you resting plug body on cylinder head when you crank engine then? If no problem up until now with old plugs then A/ Are new plugs exactly the same as old? B/ Have you gapped new plugs correctly?* (people will argue but 0.6 mm will work.) If answer is 'yes' to both and still no spark (when resting on cylinder head/barrel) then a bizarre coincidence and more investigation needed obviously *as suggested already
