Always good to hear opinions, but reasons behind it? I`ve heard the 1198 is a bit more lary but comes with upgrades etc the 1098 either needed. Any ideas if any 1198 parts can be used as an upgrade on the 1098? I`m mainly thinking starter components, bearing etc for the moment...
Ooh hadn`t even thought of that yet, but I like your style...!!! The Mrs won`t even sit on the back of my ZZR1400 armchair, so no chance of sitting on that hardened tampon of a seat!
Funny you mention the ZZR14, I’ve been trying to get my best biking buddy to drop his zzfugly for 3 years now.
True, I weighed up for ages before I picked the zzr, I think I looked at it so much that it became a looker in my head. Still love it Buuut... next to the Ducati... I feel a little more sorry for it, Big Ole Bruiser, next to it`s sexy little Italian step sister!
Some 1098's can have issues with bottom end bearing failure. The 1198 (or 1098 SFS which has the 1198 bottom end) doesn't suffer from the issue. The fix is expensive (1198 parts) and can involve a new crank if you are unlucky. I've never had an issue with my old 1098s and I'm not sure it's too common.
Welcome and nice bike. Mine was stalling when I first got it but 2 hours labour by Ducati sorted it out and 2 years on I still love it.
Unfortunately not! Was part of the rework at Snell, just a lick of paint, but don't tell anyoneit`s a secret...
