Go for Jamie Clare’s screen spacers. They definitely make an improvement. https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/members/41233/ Make sure you give him the year of your bike. Pre DVT’s have a 4 hole screen, DVT’s 3 hole screen. The new bike looks good.
Although I haven’t tried Jamie’s screen spacers (sounds tasty!) I do think the having a gap between the fairing and the screen dramatically improves air movement.
Thanks Sam. Have been in touch with Jamie already. Thanks. It’s mint and happy with it so far. I’m popping into London on it over next couple of days. Let me know if yr about I will pop in for a cuppa. Inda
As mine is a GT it has a higher screen than standard and in all honesty is about spot on for me even at 6 foot 1. Istill get a little wind noise but literally dropping my head down an inch drops me into a dead space. I have recently swapped over to a Pikes Peak screen which riding locally and on twisty roads is fine but a recent 120 mile dual carriageway blast it was a pain and waaay too much wind blast in comparison to my GT screen. I'll keep the PP screen on for now but any distance work again i'll swap them over
Take a look at this thread. It shows pics of mine cut down and before spraying black. https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/windnoise-mirrors.64098/page-4#post-1187498 This is the screen I have for long motorway miles/touring. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DUCATI-M...862199?hash=item23c5f28af7:g:V4cAAOSw6ZRdCqAJ I recently did 2.5k miles through the Alps and back and it was totally acceptable.
Yup. standard on the GT. Only made in 2013/2014 and have a 4 hole screen mount as you can see on the pics. Your earlier 2011 has a 3 hole fitment
Go to Palmers Motorcycle Products. Just did a 5500 mile tour using Puig sports screen with small deflector fitted to palmers carrier. Still some noise but huge improvements in standard and I’m 6’ with seat on raised position. Very little buffeting and looks way better IMO
