If you don’t use PayPal much it’s quite normal for funds to be put on hold until the buyer receives the item. I use PayPal all the time and don’t have any problems with funds clearing straight away but my wife who only uses it occasionally always has funds put on hold. I think your safe to post but make sure you send by a method of recorded delivery with a signature and it’s important you only send to the address on the PayPal transaction or you won’t have sellers protection. Enter the tracking info into the PayPal transaction. Once the parcel has been delivered PayPal will know and release the money.
I think if the purchaser asks for an address change, and the sellers agrees, its game over. Best to check with PayPal.
No, it is PayPal rules - only send to the address provided by the PayPal system... if they want a different address all they have to do is enter it when making the payment. If Friends and Family payment then no address is given anyway...
I did on the first few times I sold using eBay. Now they send interest free loan offers every month. I expect they will get into dating apps next or double glazing.
This happened to me a few months ago. I am an occasional seller, I sold a virtually new M797 seat, the buyer messaged me acknowledging receipt and said he was very pleased with it. Paypal had released the funds but ebay were holding them, said funds would probably be released in 12 days? I managed to open a chat dialogue with ebay and pointed out that the item had been received and buyer was happy with it, funds were in my account within a couple of hours!
I’m still using a home hub 5 so if your 6 is better, I’ll give you a tenner + postage Steve. Cheers, Andy
Just a warning from another thread - NEVER USE PAYPAL'S "FRIENDS AND FAMILY" PAYMENT METHOD TO PAY FOR GOODS! There is no come-back for paying someone with the Friends and Family method. You can't open a dispute, you can't claim the money back and you can't cancel it. It's like sending cash in an envelope. No company will ever ask you to pay by Friends and Family to "get round the PayPal fee". If you're sure the seller is legit, negotiate a higher price to pay the PayPal fee yourself, but don't ever, ever, EVER pay by Friends and Family. HTH.
All my Forum Discounted transactions are paid via Friends and Family or Bank Transfer - so you are quite wrong with that statement (but I think you knew that anyway). All my products are shipped via Royal Mail insured delivery and if something goes missing it is my responsibility. My customers can be 100% at ease. Many long standing members trust others on here and never have issues.
