'05 Strada Clutch Problem

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Steve Joyce, Apr 17, 2013.

  1. Sitting at lights, clutch pulled in......30 secs or so I start creeping forward and have to kill the engine.

I took it to by local Garage. £122 for slave cylinder....problem is still there, They want to order me a master cylinder. They said there was a problem with the slave as it was wet inside.

I'm not mechanically minded so just want to go for a ride, not be taken for one!!!

    PLEASE HELP

  2. So Do you leave it in gear ,sounds to me like its overheating/need new plates is it difficult to get into neutral when stopped.

  3. Yes I do leave it in gear, but never had this before.

  4. Could just need bleeding up

  5. Is this town/city use with frequent stops Steve. If it is I'm betting your clutch is overheating.

  6. If a dry clutch then check the bearing in the clutch pressure plate. If it is not free then the push rod can generate heat causing the clutch fluid to expand. Replace it anyway as it's a cheap fix and make sure you grease the push rod..
