I have the same on mine - I have a wifi switched adaptor that powers the automated controller - so have to turn it on on the phone for the power to be on for the automatic control to work. I have it set to turn off automatically every 2 hours - but no auto ON... just incase i forget to switch off power after I open / close door. BUT - if this is your only door into the garage be careful.. I have had my WIFI unit lock up 3 times in last 2 years... so have to go inside and unplug it and plug in the controller directly - to bypass the locked up unit. If this is your only way in and it locks... your screwed...
I thought I'd update on garage door automation: so in 15 minutes and without electrocution or swearing i now have a smart garage door which i can close remotely.
