This week, a bloke in our ukulele group stuck this pic up of an award he was given years ago, on our Uke Facebook page (for no good reason). It set me thinking - what trophies do you have in the loft, on the mantlepiece, or in the shed ?
I had to give it back, but I once had the Whitchurch trophy for winning the Gloucestershire indoor county archery championships 2 years running.
i dont think trophies have a place in modern society.. we are all "winners" .. apart from some of the losers on here....
My ex wife was once a trophy wife which she objected to , i found out that objection was in every respect apart from financially which is why shes my ex
Apart from a few ventures when I was much younger, I started quite late.....in my late 30s. Here are a few.
Won these in the noughties, all of them except for three or four on that bike. There were also some really nice perpetual trophies but the clubs insist you return them, my favourite one was the Cadwell Park Pre-65 clubman route, I won it the year before the club lost the venue. I think the guy who won it the last time it was presented still has it, bastid .
My very well qualified kids took pity on me as I did not go to uni and don’t have a degree. they mocked up a certificate for me; 1st class with distinction from the University of Life. Ain’t that the truth.
Daughters swimming medals and the dogs rosettes. I have two very small London to Brighton bike ride medals.
