I know there are a few Portishead and North Somerset Ducati owners on here, so who is up for meeting up and having a Coffee and chat one Saturday/Sunday soon?
Cool Good response already. I am sure some of you were at Corn Street on the weekend, but its difficult as there are so many people to identify who's who. We can meet up local for a coffee, meet and greet and discuss who fancies meeting up regularly for some ride outs. From where I live its not far from the Severn Bridge and North to Abergavenny, not far to the mendips and Cheddar and not far to Bridgwater/Taunton and West to Lynton/Lynmouth or South East to West Bay. Some years ago we were had regular weekend meets and rides with a pub lunch thrown in, we used to get a good 6 - 10 Ducati's, Dave will remember those as he was in the old crew.
I was at the Italia show at the weekend. My 999 with red wheels was just around the corner from the riders tent. I saw someone with tortuga on the back of their leathers, I guess that may have been you. It would be good to meet up, I've been over to riders a few times on a Saturday morning but there has always been a meeting of the harley riding leather chap brigade and no ducati riders. Deaks
LOL That was me. I saw your 999, when we set off from Gordano you were next to me to begin with. Riders is OK once and a while as you can have a breaky etc, but yes its mainly Harley people there and like you the last time I went, no one else did. Its a good enough place to turn up have a breakfast and go for a ride.
Count me in. I have been living and had my 999 in Southampton for the last 8 years but a new job had brought me to Bristol. Im hopefully bringing the bike up in a couple of weeks I too was at the Bristol Italian day as I always am. Mine was the "fake ahem" yellow 999 outside the bus . Would be great to meet some fellow Duc enthusiasts and also put some names to faces from the old forum! Cheers Matt
ill add my hat into this ring, if i may. Albeit given the arrival of a little girl three months ago, attendance may need to be 'negotiated' ....... IIRC you (tortuga) went though something similar in the past couple of years - SORNed for 12 months? - or summat like that, a while back.
Yes I did, still there and cant come out to play as much as I used to as my son is going to be 4 in September, its a juggling act between work and family without bikes to be honest. Congratulations on the baby girl. There are still week night meets in North Bristol but its too much to go to these with work commitments etc, so one or so weekend day a month is the best I can manage these days. There was a time I used to do them all and then some before being happily married and being a Dad. This is how the Bristol Italian auto fest ride in started , it was a small bike event to which I innocently posted "anyone fancy a meet up and ride in" we met at Bristol Temple Meads Station and 40 bikes turned up, the next year we met at Gordano and that became nearly 100. Its now enormous as you all know although I am not involved these days. But I guess the point I was trying to make is that I enjoyed the fest this year and came away thinking, and as I have a little more time than in previous years, I want to re-form the posse, make some new friends along the way and get riding again.
