  1. Personally if you are selling a 1098 I would sell private, it’s becoming one of those bikes where the dealers little white book will show a value wildly different to reality. For example, I sold my RGV250 that had a ‘book’ value to dealers of around £1500... I sold it for £8k... it’s an extreme example but to prove the point, really clean 1098/1198 go up to nearly £9k from private sellers so why accept £6k

also, at 500 miles a year you may be better off keeping it full stop unless the 500 is because deep down you find it too hard work to ride and it puts you off

  2. You can have 2 weeks in Barbados for a weeks worth in a cottage in Cornwall. Those carrot crunchers sure know how to charge.

  3. Unfortunately it's the Northern mechanised caravan brigade that does most of the clogging. Don't think they'd be interested in static accomodation.

  4. It's not that I find it too hard to ride, though it's less comfy than the r1200r, it's more that it's so well locked up that unless the weather is really good, I can't be bothered to get it out first thing in the morning.
I don't have time for pleasure riding per se, I just commute.

  5. I had my 1098 for 11 years and decided to test ride a v4s. I was convinced I wouldn't like it. After 90 minutes I'd signed up for one. If I could have had both I would. There's something about a 1098 but the v4 is pretty dam good.

  7. Not at all. But I’ve got a better idea - sell yours privately (you’ll always get much more £) and buy my full carbon single swing arm 899!! No one needs more that that power on the road - baby pani all the way

  9. Fair enough!

  10. The V4 is a fab bike, not a fan of the wingdings on the 2020 myself...but the V4s with the fancy spenders makes for a great road bike. Switchable comfort on the fly. Just a thought.
