V4 Changing Tyre Size

  1. Is it possible to change from a 200/60/17 to 200/55/17 on the V4?, the choice of tyres in 200/60 is very small and I don’t want to use Supercorsas again as all they ever seem to do is pick up punctures!.

  2. You need to go in to the tyre size calibration function in the menu (left hand handle bar switch cluster) which requires you to ride at between 28 and 30mph in second gear for about 10 seconds which is not as simple as it sounds but that is all you should need to do. Andy

  3. go to a 190 rear and keep existing profile

  4. Worth mentioning that the Pirelli Corsa II’s are available in the 200/60 size.
Had the same issue and changed to them last year as Supercorsas were a waste for me (Road use). Although they are still a bit expensive, they do give better mileage, and overall I am quite happy with the switch.

  5. i fitted metzler m7rr 200/60/17 on my v4s i had these on my 1299 as well
great tyre i find them harder on the road the pirelli are a lot softer

  6. Has anyone ridden with 200/55s on?, just wondering how it effects the bikes handling?.
I actually like the Supercorsas characteristics, happy with their grip and feel just fed up with replacing them due to punctures.
I'm unsure what to go for next, I've always liked Michelins but am not sure what the equivalent one would be, also loved the Metzler Racetec K3s I had on my S1000RR when I had one, the only issue with them was they wore out fast, was getting 1100/1200 miles out of a rear.
