For some headbangers north of the wall, burns night is something to celebrate and today is Burns day/night So to those who celebrate the chap who said Scottish Happy Burns night to our Scottish members and may you have a lovely celebratory Burns celebration
aye, year of the rat. how apt.. if you're born in this year apparently it means you are hard working. there's no mention on how well you will be compensated for yer hard work right enough. I think, to a louse, and parcel of rouges are just as relevant today, possibly more so as it was when they where written. and until its resolved, you can ram yer auld lang syne. *finger*
aye, but I guess yer ignoring the fact that there has been more than 1 year of the rat. 1984, along with many other years. its not like you to tell half the story.
for some headbangers. yip, nice start. I rede you beware o' the ripples, young man, I rede you beware o' the ripples, young man; Tho' the saddle be saft, ye needna ride aft, For fear that the girdin' beguile ye, young man. I rede you beware o' the ripples, young man, I rede you beware o' the ripples, young man; Tho' music be pleasure, tak' music in measure, Or ye may want win i' your whistle, young man. I rede you beware o' the ripples, young man, I rede you beware o' the ripples, young man; Whate'er ye bestow, do less than ye dow, The mair will be thought o' your kindness, young man. . I rede you beware o' the ripples, young man, I rede you beware o' the ripples, young man; Gif you wad be strang, and wish to live lang, Dance less wi' your arse to the kipples, young man.
if you take a look at the last two lines in every verse, it would suggest to me that what yer man rabbie is saying is chill, dumb ass. not you, the person that motivated him to write the poem.
Sounds like good advice. Can you tell me what the kipples are, as want to avoid them whilst dancing...
A quick google seems to suggest the entire song/ poem is about sex, but there's no mention of de batty man. Merry Muses of Caledonia are presumed to be lassies but probably if you were gay in those days you were jailed for life!
