I’ve signed up to ride from Lands End to John O Groats on 20th June , all for Charidee , mate .. need to make the trip in 24 hrs , no MWays ... A friend of mine is accompanying me , and I’m thinking of takin Charlie , the amazing Ducati riding dog with me - it’s a long old trip so , need to make sure she’d be comfortable first Anywhoo , this particular adventure requires me to purchase a whole motorbike for 300 quid , ish This doesn’t include tyres and MOT etc ... on which to make the 1000mile journey .. Try finding anybike for 300 quid that would make the trip and you’ll find that’s a challenge in itself . I’ve found a GSX for my mate , and have a line on an old CBR1000 for myself ( the ballistic fridge , I believe it was called back in the day ) , but thought I’d check here first to see if there’s an old snotty ducati sitting unloved in a shed somewhere that could pick up the challenge and represent Suspect I’m pissing in the wind , but if I don’t ask ..... a snotty old Multi would be great as I have loads of bits for these , so go and look in the back of your shed ! http://www.thelongestdaydownchallenge.co.uk/
You should be able to buy any multi you like for £300. Even to the extent that an owner would give you 300 to take it away. That way two charities get helped.
As I have been inundated with precisely zero offers of a Duc , I bought the old CBR1000 There’s loads of room for Char on the big flat topped fuel tank and it should do 200mile between fill-ups, which should help on the trip Just got to get the old lump roadworthy and reliable enough for the journey now
