Sounded OK to me - and similar to the last 2 from Sam and Adele. Little slow at the start.. but then picked up strong..
I like it! Its also in a simiular vein to the Radiohead Spectre song which the movie makers ultimately rejected saying it was too dark... The clip is the Spectre trailer, but advance to 2.0mins to sample RH does 007. Some of you might like it - I think its great.
I do not think that it is ‘dramatic’ or ‘audacious’ as described by the BBC correspondent. For me, it is just another ‘piece of the moment’ music in a long line of ‘pieces of the moment’ music that, IMO, cannot be described as memorable. So there is a challenge for you, without using the internet or books or asking someone else, how many of the 25 Bond movie themes can you remember. I do not include David Niven’s atrocious Casino Royale or Sean Connery’s awful Never say Never Again. Andy
im not ashamed to say ive never heard of her... that said you can only play the bond backing notes a certain way and they are within the song...
Live & Let Die Wings Goldfinger Shirley Bassey Diamonds are Forever Shirley Bassey View To A Kill Duran Duran Spy Who Loved Me Carly Simon Know My Name Chris Cornell Skyfall Adele There was a Lulu one too - I think... And a dreadful duet relatively recently?
Ha ha ha... Since posting I had a a look -and a listen- to the entire Bond library. Those were the best ones by far - some of the others must have paid to be the title song they were so bad! There really is only one signature tune for 007
i could only think of gold finger... and thats probably coz as kids we thought we were funny singing gold sphincter (although the movie was well before my time..) i hate bond films....and the theme tunes
I love Bond. Will be totally gutted when this Bond is retired.. I think the track is very brand Bond. Not a masterpiece but remember this track is played to the closing credits so has an end of film vibe now . Just can’t wait till April!!
The name is Bond..... ..........Basildon Bond..... .....I was born in South Essex. The song is bloody awful and typical of the modern waily dirges that seem to dominate nearly every 'artists' repertoire these days.
Ugh....just listened to it. No Time To Die? - sounds more like it is time to die. Music to commit suicide to. I just had to listen to a load of Leonard Cohen afterwards to cheer me up!
