I have a bit of OCD in regards to the cleaning of my 848. In certain light refraction on the tank I notice some very fine scratches, although these are nearly invisible I now know they are there so the damage is done. Can anyone recommend a very delicate scratch remover/ polish to get these out. I believe this many be the result of using a chamois, I will be sure to use the air line blower in future.
I use this on my 1198. Bought from Lidl. LIDL Invest in some Clay Bar and carnuba wax if you want to pamper.
Cheers for that, good to hear that something so cheap leaves a good job as its something I'd normally walk past.
I use maguires swirl removal for paint swirls and then buff with a good quality wax Buy Meguiar's SwirlX from Meguiar's UK
Well i've done bodywork before. I just use Halford cutting compound to get the scratch out, be carefull though as it is removing the clear coat to get it it flat with the lowest point of the scratch. Merr polish is good, as are hard waxes, carnuba being the best. Don't use water based wash/wax stuff, they're crap. As chrisw says, clay bar before drying removes every tiny spec from the surface so no chance of rubbing something that might scratch the top coat.
