Mrs N normally works 5 hours a day part time as a pharmacy dispenser.. currently she and her colleagues are averaging 12 hour days due to the virus etc .. Having to really concentrate for that amount of time must be really tough.. Anyway, one of her colleagues took an hour off as a lunchtime break and was asked if she could drop off a prescription to a regular customer who owns a shop in the town and has a disabled child, his son relied on his meds literally for his life.. She took the prescription as asked, in her own time, paid to park for a min period and walked to the shop. She was met by a fairly long Q.. Wearing NHS uniform with badge etc she went to the front of the Q just to give the Father his sons prescription, as she did so she was heckled by a few people in the Q with some using the F word too all because they assumed she was pushing in.. The Father ( shop owner ) was so outraged and seeing one of the hecklers mouthing off took action. He told the guy he could step out of the Q and go elsewhere for his goods for there was no way he would be served by any member of his staff after assaulting a NHS staff member with his verbal outburst.. These Girls often get home late each night too as they offer to drop off prescriptions for free to the elderly etc on their way home, again, for free.. Incredible is it not... x
This whole thing has got me confused. Humans are meant to be the most intelligent creatures on Earth. From what I've seen on telly, when somebody is busy fighting their way into a shop - or coming out with their shopping trolley full of bog roll and that triumphant look on their face - if they are questioned as to why they are doing it, you get that blank look. Then, after a few minutes -you can see the cogs whirring - the answer is (with a triumphant look for they have thought of an answer) it's because "everyone else is doing it!". It's a bit like the only time that I flew Ryan Air. We. go in to the holding area and people are already queuing up for the plane but it is not ready yet. Everybody must have a seat and the plane does not leave any earlier, so why queque? I am sure that if a TV crew asked them, then you would get that same blank look and cogs whirring. Then, after a while, you would get that triumphant answer, "because everybody else is!". Makes me quite sad for the human race.
hopefully this will make people re-assess what is important, and maybe the NHS and public services will get some more support.. wish full thinking i know
Sheep! I went to Aldi the other day and couldn’t believe what I was seeing, anIndian guy with 4 kids three of which he gave approx £10 each whereafter they each got a trolley and followed their father picking up what he told them too eg Bread, milk and eggs etc and finally told them to go to different tills so they wouldn't be discovered I guess.. All this because Aldi had put a 3 of the same item restriction on customers.. I bet that P***k of a Father had also parked in a disabled slot too, not that I looked.. x
The other issue these Girls ( along with many other essential staff) are facing is by the time they finish their essential work and go to get their food essentials etc they are greeted with empty shelves, hence they are working all hours to try and serve the public with their needs but struggle to provide the basics for their own family .. All very sad... x
The fools that you see in the media still frequenting pubs and clubs, seemingly hell bent on having a good time will seal our fate...that being enforced incarceration for all. Enjoy your responsible restricted freedom while it lasts folks.
Lots of NHS staff get hassled. My daughters both struggle to get parked near the hospitals they work at, one is a doctor - one is a BMS and both work comedy hours and shift patterns, both have taken abuse for parking on side streets near their respective hospitals even though they take care never to block drives. I know for fact that some nurses at Barnsley hospital have had their cars vandalised, boxed in with an inch left at either end and some have been threatened with violence too. I find it totally ridiculous - these are nearly all young women that care for the sick and elderly. My two have not had quite that level of aggro yet, but if they did - and I could ID the twat that did it...he would not be doing it a second time to anyone else.
God, I luv it when your Angry... Your quite right though, I know at Ipswich hospital the staff do have their own car park however, they still have to pay about a Tenner a day to use it, I’ve never got that at all.. Wouldn’t it be ironic though if the guy who you allegedly chinned ended up needing treatment by your Daughters in their hospital... Nurse Hootowl.. “oh hello again Sir how are we, oh a little grumpy still are we, come on, how about a nice Little Smile, Sorry I didn’t quite get what your were trying to say? Oh you can’t smile, because my Dad re arranged your teeth for you.... “ x
Girl in the coop got shouted at as she had a trolly full of loo roll she worked there and was trying to re stock the shelves let’s hope karma has the last laugh
only the civilised ones, who, are unfortunately the minority now... the only orderly queues is see these days are caused by morons who dont know how to merge onto a motorway....
You do have to remain calm and think! Walked back past a newsagent and general store today. There was a 4x4 big land cruiser type truck rammed with loo roll. My first reaction was, "Oh FFS, this is getting stupid!" And then I realised that the truck belonged to the shop and they must of just been to the cash & carry! Shows that you just need to step back and think! That shop must of been cleaned out of loo roll today. I don't get the gig here. Can anyone help? So, we get this pandemic. Here in sunny Berkeley, we have all of one case about 12 miles away in Stroud. The normal reaction here is to rush out to the shops and buy massive quantities of bog roll. Your determination is so great that you will fight anyone for it - including shop staff and neighbours. Did I miss something when I was away in hospital last year? Did I miss something?
My wife is the dispensary manager at our local hospital. She and a lot of the staff are working extra hours for free just to get the job done, you wouldn’t believe the amount of crap they get off the public right now both in the hospital and whilst trying to shop.
