I know this is an old thread, but it is the closest I've seen to addressing what I am doing. I have fitted the SW Motech rack to my grab bars and use it with my Givi V47 top box. I like the look much more than the Ducati rack and I can also remove the adapter plate quickly and use it purely as a luggage rack if needed to strap something down. My question is this...for those who chose a different route than the Ducati option, do you do anything to cover or seal the holes under the tail section where the Ducati support bars screw to the bike? It is not real problem, but I am a bit OCD about it I guess. I wish someone made that plastic panel under the tail without those holes. Thanks.
