I loved my sp1, im sooooo sorry i sold it but after nine years you hanker for something else, the 30 was tiny, im 6 ft 1 and looked ridiculous on it ,BUT it was lovely to ride.
I just missed out some time ago on buying my sp1 back, the wife even says buy it, was going to put it in office. But missed it by a day. I owned it from new. Had full ohlins etc and handled like a dream.
The VFR400 was a riot to ride. Remember following a guy riding a Fireblade, he was full on kneedown, right over on roundabouts and corners. Me sat just behind on the 400, not realising how well it handled till years later. Seat was a plank though, thankfully the fuel tank was small. Regular stops for fuel meant a chance to straighten up a bit. Six foot tall, so probably looked like I was on a mini bike. Bought from a dealer for £2300 with full mot and new tyres. Sold a year later for £2100. Never touched a thing on it. Happy days.
My daughter has found some old photos, still cringing at them..but here is my z550 and in the background Corolla gti. Picture taken around 30 years ago. Blimey.
