HI Bob, Unforgettably you need a special program for your PC/Laptop all the main dealers got it.. with that program you can access all settings on your Bike, reset service light change next service date etc. I am lucky that my mate got it ..

Had my GPI recalibrated by the dealer after flickering gear numbers and loss of 6th when hot, during 54,000 mile service. Been working ok for a few months now.
On the 1260’s there is a Tire calibration that you can do without any software, I had to do this after I changed the rear sprocket to a 42 tooth. My downshift blipper wasn’t working. Upshift was fine, you have to ride at between 28 and 32 miles an hour in 2nd gear to do it. Afterwards the blipper was fine! I wonder if this is a similar thing?
We re calibrated the gears with no luck the display is still showing 5 gear in 4th and other way round ... So we took the GPI out cleaned it , put it back in re calibrated ones again .... no luck .. now I am sure I need a new GPI ... not easy on the wallet !!
