We had tickets for that, set up tent in the dry at a local campsite and it started to rain 30 min later... after 2 days everything was soaked. The afternoon of the gig we went to the campsite office and just gave our 2 tickets to the first teen we saw, should’ve seen the look on his face !
I know I've had my go but I just found a photo I took of the mosh pit from high up in the stadium. Andy
Not been to many but these were Good. Doctor Feelgood, Kent Custom Show, Stowting Common, 1986 Iron Maiden at the Bol D'Or - Paul Ricard Circuit 1991. Rory Gallagher at Freewheels Show, Cunlaht early 90s. Joe Bonamassa Sheffield a couple of years ago. Nearly saw Jeff Healey - Manchester - Missed the Bloody Bus from Scunthorpe!
The best gigs that I have been to are: Queen at Wembley 1986 Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert at Wembley 1992 The gig that I regret not going to was Guns n Roses at Nottingham Rock City 1987. Bands that I would have liked to have seen: Slade, Zeppelin, Rainbow (with Ronnie James Dio), Elvis Presley (US tour 1970)
David Gray, first white ladder tour, 2000. 'Please forgive me' finale was electric. Biggest legal high ever.
For me seeing the Foo Fighters in at the Ipswich Regent at their try out of the skin and bones acoustic set.. it was mind blowing .. I’ve seen them at Wembley but this was way way better, you could hear every note and no screaming from Mr G, absolutely beautiful. Very lucky to get 2 tickets they were being sold on eBay for £1500 .. X Would have liked to have seen the Stone Roses, but on a good day..
Genesis Knebworth 92 Pink Flloyd Earls Court 94 Reef Bournemouth Fire Station 90’s? Foo Fighters MK bowl 15
When I saw Ian Brown it was in a tent at V2000 Weston Park, I had to stand through around 4 very mediocre bands before he played as I knew it would be rammed. The atmosphere and the build up before he came on was unbelievable tent only held about 200 felt more like 400 had squeezed in. A great memory of such a talented performer. Didn’t go just love the track and the clip of SR’s free gig
I saw them again at a little venue down here called Mr Kipps (sadly closed down now) a couple years back, still top form!
They were/are playing rock and blues I think if it happens, my lads guitar tutors band playing there too. His band supported the Cult for a part of their last tour also Glenn Hughes.
Bit of a mixed bag lol, Doe Maar, Simple minds, Toto, Hot chocolate, Oleta Adams, U2, Whitney Houston , Celine Dion , Elton John, Phil Collins, Anouk, Rick Ashley , Pink, and many many more, all very good in their own way........
Reef was the first Gig for my Boy, Ipswich Regent. My that front mans got a voice, am I wrong in saying they’ve gone a bit religious of late..
favorite band to see live was probably zz top at western springs in auckland around 85... best gig was the big day out a mt smart stadium in 96 97 ish? had a bud who was crew and he delivered us a crew pass at midnight the day before the main event, me and a mate who was a graphic designer took the pass, broke into his bosses studio and spent the night making 100 copies. it was old skool, we had to print em out and then cut each one out with a scalpel then laminate em , punch holes, blah blah..... but it worked, i sold my 50 to mates for a fiver each to cover costs and bit of booze money (a ticket was about 60 dollars) but he got greedy and tried to sell em outside the stadium. he'd sold 2 then got arrested for pissing on the side of a undercover cop car and spent the night in the cells... anyhu, being crew passes, we could walk in without bag checks so took in all we needed. also got back stage and got on the piss at the back stage bar with perry farrell (of janes addiction), the chicks from elastica and some other clowns.. me and me mate then got on stage with rage against the machine and moshed it up till security dragged us of.. rage were cool and loving it. great gig...
Really enjoy Aussie Pink Floyd and seen them in Birmingham every year, For the past 8 years after a mate introduced me to what I thought was a cheesy “tribute” band they’re that good, David Gilmore had them play at his birthday bash. Best gig ever, Genesis live over Europe tour at Old Trafford
I dug out oxygene this weekend, loved the album cover and now own a Jarre Aerobull HD1, lovely if a bit quirky, had all his albums (on vinyl) back in the day
1983 Dire Straits Alchemy tour, still love the album to this day. 2009 Gary Moore at the O2 in Bournemouth, simply stunning, one of the most natural fret board men I have even seen.
