I have to say I will be pleased on so many fronts when this damned lockdown is over and we can ride again, cos I am spending money like water on the bike and on Ducati toys in general to help keep boredom at bay...well, that's what I keep telling SWMBO anyway I have spent well over a grand ( I dont really want to add it all up) since the lockdown started, either on bling for the bike directly - or bling for me that is bike related. This week alone I bought yet another leather jacket I dont need lol, and despite having maybe 10 watches already I just bought another one cos it had a Ducati logo on the face The issue of too much spare time and limited spare cash is gettin' outta hand Is anyone else doing the spend to relieve boredom thing or is it just me ?
I went to see a mate today and he's said the same thing. A new Packtalk intercom. A Dainese jacket. Shoei KTM helmet. Quickshifter for his KTM. I've managed to resist and only bought a took kit and paddock stand.
Only spent on my project as I'm managing to progress a bit with the free time, oh and I bought a coolant catch bottle today for the Bayliss for £25 - not bad in 6 weeks. Lost another kilo in weight over the last few days so all good
Couple of nice EDC svord peasant knives & leather cases, got quite paranoid about how much can food I have when a young lady came round. So I am systematically eating my way through them instead of normal shopping purchases. Also brought some paint to refresh my dwellings which need a good scrub down before any more visitors. This has had the opposite effect on me probably because I've just been made redundant from my job. And now signed up with a driving agency who do zero-hours contract or minimum 8-hour shifts. Done couple of major clear outs reassessed whats actually important in life. Done a single visit to my eldest bro's wood outside of normal local journeys. And donated a few things from my stowed f800 gear to other bikers on ukgser & therevcounter. Even joined facebook but I don't have any friends so that's fairly pointless. For me I've ground to a halt on frivolous spending because I may have to move if things get really shitty.
Not spent any money on add ons etc, only the road fund licence for two bikes and eight trips out with the Go,Go Juice.
Bought seat, tank and fairing panels as spares for my Tricolore - £900 last week and stripped front wheel on another bike today for refurb and re build after re plating spokes and nipples, had skip delivered this afternoon so I can start clearing the back garden this weekend - probably going to need 2 more before it's done so that's another £750 gone and just gone on to half salary from this month after being on half time/full salary since lockdown started. Probably spent some more as well but haven't been counting too closely.
Just bits and bobs other than a new Nitron R3 shock for the 996. Watching eBay almost hourly hoping for bargains. Few and far between.
Yup, leather jacket, all weather jacket (which i dont even need, so may put up for sale) tools, looking at another crash helmet and maybe a Multistrada DVT
I bought a touring seat for the Diavel with a booked Germany trip in mind Having learnt that lesson I'm now resisting the temptation to spend on any more clothing in case (in the likelihood that) it won't fit when I am allowed to get back on the bike!
Just think of all the fuel and tyre expenses that will be saved due to the trackdays being shit canned. That money has to be spent somewhere.
I had to buy a new washing machine too lol....although I used the wife's credit card to pay for it and either she hasn't noticed - or didn't mind I wasn't brave enough to bring the subject up
