  1. Hi everyone

Hope everyone is well i took my bike out for the first time since lockdown today. The bike hasnt moved for months so thought i would give it a good run. When i was out the engine light came on and dont no why as the bike is still running fine while it is on. Has any body else had this problem and how do i go about reseting it as dealers are shut in scotland my bike is a 14 plate multistrada pikes peak cheers for any help

  2. Does it sound rough/backfire on idle?

You really need to plug it in, you can buy the lead from London Electronic and then download free software from JPDiag. Just did that with mine as it threw up a code, was the horizontal MAP sensor, ordered a new one and back up and running again.

  3. No its running well i have ordered up a code reader for it and will take it from there thanks for your help

  4. Oil pressure switch leads still plugged in , above the beak top of oil cooler.

  5. Could it be the/an air mass sensor?
Had mine go on my 11 plate.

  6. Will check that tonight

  7. My DVT threw up this light, bike rode perfectly fine no issues what so ever. I know they are slightly different machines but mine went away after a few rides out. I spoke to the dealer at the next service and they said something such as a low battery can cause the engine management light to come on.

  9. Thats what i thought it could been but i checked the battery and its fine i had a look to see if anything has came lose but cant see anything

  10. Can you remember where thats is about on the bike

  11. Different on DVT compared to 2011. I’ll see if I can find pic.

  12. Here’s a pic from parts manual. Item 14 in pic. Pre DVT has 2 so look at the parts manual in forum pages to check if there are 2 on DVT.
    Check google for position. AC8EA74C-883D-419D-9572-E513FEB9264E.png

  13. I couldnt tell it was a battery issue. At the time i was in the IOM and was riding whilst charging two phones and a battery pack. I had also been tootling around slowly alot due to the weather last year. I would go for few more rides out and see if it clears itself before spending money.

  14. Thanks everyone for your help but still not getting anywhere fast will will need to wait till ducati opens up in glasgow

  15. If it is the AP sensor it’ll never reset until replaced.

  17. I have emailed them just waiting for a reply back for when i can get booked in thanks

  18. Not sure of your exhaust set up but the same happened on my 1200s when my exhaust valve stuck open. EML light came on but the bike ran absolutely fine. I fitted an exhaust valve limiter box to remove the eml light and wired the valve open.
