I fitted a SuperSprox 42T to my 2019 Multistrada 1260S the other day only to find that the downshift on the quickshifter stops working. Upshift is fine. I swapped back twice to check, and all is well with the 40T. Anybody else seen this issue, or have any idea why it's happening? Chain tension was ok. I've read that a chain with an extra couple of links should be used, but with the amount of adjustment in the rear, is this really necessary?
Probably got the shifter confused. The gearing has forced changes in road speed vs rpm and it can’t determine a safe downshift
Aha similar is happening to me, I purchased bike with 42T on the back already, upshifts fine, downshifts urgh! Shall investigate, cheers fellas!
Mine did this, carry out a tyre calibration and it should sort it, did for me. Go into the dash and select it, you have to ride at between 28 and 32 mph in second gear I believe. Tells you on the dash what to do.
Yeah this ^^^ My downshifting felt a tad out after gear changing. After the tyre calibration downshifting felt fine. Either this or I’ve just got used to it
There was a recall or service advice (can’t remember which) on rerouting the cable to the shifter/blipper. The standard routing was causing the conductor in the cable to break. Could be worth checking.
Don’t suppose you know what the routing should look like . I’m wondering if the guy that changed sprockets moved it ? Thx in advance
The service note is just to be sure the cable loop just as it comes from the load sensor on the shift linkage does not rub on the cylindrical part of the shift lever
