Ha!! That's exactly what I said to my pal who told me that you only get that Clunk on the RSV4 as it has a cassette gearbox.. My Gixer 750 also had it, though that was 10 years ago! Right, I'm on a mission. 1299 pivot linkage first, then the QS, will let you know how it fairs with each one... Failing that, I'll see how I get on with the rest of the bike at Almeria, Portimao & Jerez this year and if I do get smitten aside from this I might speak to Nova, see if there is anything they can do internally. Having said that, what are these boxes like to remove?? I could get my Aprilia one out in about an hour, these don't look so simple..
