looking for a clutch master cylinder for my 999 or a repair kit as mine is not working to well :frown:
If its the standard master, I don't think there is a repair kit. I had problems with mine, and had to get a decent used one from eBay.
A lot of people really rate these from oberon. They say it makes the clutch lever lighter too. Ducati Clutch Slave Cylinders
With Oberon they work 98% of the time. I seen few, including me, that say not enough lift from it. I have the same issue and think it is down to certain Friday models where cases are bit wider? I am thinking that as my slave works on other ducatis. BTW do not get one of Ebay who is to say it is not leaking? Finally even with my Oberon issue it still works just when not slight drag.
Johns after a master cylinder not a slave...I have some IRC radial units in stock John...pm me if you'd like one or details....
I need a master cylinder if there is one homeless.. They are impossible to repair as I have found out , parts are not available so its a throwaway unit - any alternatives known ? Cheers
Slumdog, you could give these folks a call. https://racesparesuk.com/product/brembo-master-cylinder-repair/ Reasonable price for the rebuild as the kits would retail around £30 if you could easily get hold of them
Great ! will try them, have tried 'Ragged moto' and Bremo agents' Bike Torque Racing,' both no good .. Apparently Ducati is the only one to get the spares and they are reluctant to sell them. Are the others available? so can't see why this model has to be so difficult.
Always been the way, rebuild kits for 749 / 999 stock master cylinders not sold. I heard it was a legal issue, Ducati or Brembo scared that a home mechanic would mess up the re-build, have an accident and then take legal action against Ducati / Brembo. Not sure if this is true, but its the reason I've always been given. You can buy rebuild kits for other after market Brembo Masters, maybe time to buy one of the after market Brembo radial cylinders as these will have re-build kits available.
Thanks, any idea which aftermarket would be a match ? Don't buy the 'no diy' kits excuse out there as all the other bike and brake manufactures offer them to the would-be brake fiddler ..
Any idea of an aftermarket front brake master cylinder on the market? Not getting anywhere with a rebuild on this one
Bought these as stand by's for my early 900ss there were remote type cylinders also available, cheap as chips. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-7-8-M...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
It seems these units for the 749 999 at 18mm dia are now obsolete, were only a small production for these bikes at the time. No one on the plant has the parts at that dia to fit..Gona have to get a used or new one, anyone braking a bike with one going for a bargin ?
