1200 Multistrada 2010s Abs Ohlins Fork Caps

  1. Hello Folks, has anyone had issues with thier ÖHLINS fork caps leaking at the Joint between the blue hex nut and the silver cap itself? My bike was parked up for a few days in the Garage on the side stand and just decided to piss fork oil all over the flow. Fork seals themselves are intact with no sign of leakage.
Does anyone know if the caps are rebuldable or is is case of buying and Fitting a new part?

  3. Anybody had their OHLINS forks apart from the 2010S model? I bought a cap removal tool and made up my own clamp that sits in my vice. On unscrewing the cap though there is a long rod that is attached somehow to the upper part of the fork cap that you just can't get at. Help please

  4. I've had mine apart a few years ago to change the seals (that turned out to be fine!). I remember the long rod and don't recall anything being problematic in the dismantling process. I'm sure the whole of the tip assembly comes part it is the preloaded adjuster so the centre section will screw within the outer.
