Brands - Drive By Noise Test

Discussion in 'Trackdays & Rider Skills' started by RickyX, Jul 14, 2020.

  1. Doing a TD at Brands on Thursday and see there is no static noise testing.

Out of interest, does anybody know where the drive by noise meter is located. Asking for a friend...

  2. I'm there in the evening mate wobbling around for fun testing a few things.

There's two at Brands. One is on the marshalls post on the pit wall at the exit of clearways.

The other is going up Hailwood hill towards druids.

(Unless they have moved them - but they were and have been located in those positions for years now)

  5. Been at home mate..waiting for your call!
    How’s you Trev?

  6. Where's Trev been

  7. They’re always strategically placed. Think of the points on track you’re 100% throttle, that’s where they’ll be... sneaky fuckers....

  8. I just got an email from NL reminding me to do the online briefing.
Their message said that static noise testing is “being introduced from this week”.
When I then did the MSV briefing there was no mention of static noise testing.

As Boris may have said...”DO a noise test...but don’t DO a noise test...”

  9. The TD organisers seem to be a bit shit at reading from the same Hymn sheet or atleast communicating with each other

  10. NL wasn't to begin with but apparently the Marshall's were getting RSI's from waving black flags so they started to bring them back.

  12. Is spectating allowed again?

  13. No but nobody really checks. Security only ask why you are there.

  14. Might swing by then

  16. I went to Caldwell today to watch my friend , I didn't even think about not being let in .

There were signs saying no spectators and I was stopped at the gate , I just said I was dropping off keys and they let me in , I was happy as it was a 3 hour round trip in the rain .

  17. I will say I'm in charge of Ricky's stabiliser wheels..

  18. I may forget where to go and end up at Box Hill...

  19. I had this e-mail on Monday regards Oulton Park TD on the Tuesday. When I turned up and registered I asked about it and the lady said that it was still based on drive-by because MSV hadn’t told them about it. So no static testing.

  20. I just did Brands today - I can confirm that static testing is required.
