I put EBC HH sintered into my 748 when I put it back on the road after its major overhaul and straight away I noticed the brakes were either on or off it took me a good few miles to work out I don’t need to pull the lever 1/2 as hard as before, but boy do they have a vastly improved stopping power over the originals and vastly improved over my Monster 1100S (whatever that’s loaded with). ps disks are the original brembo s/steel OEM for 99MY and old pads would have been whatever it shipped with from the factory.
Be carefull when you are using these sites to determine what brake pads to buy. For an SP bike with cast iron discs they are suggesting sintered brake pads...
@chizel Those new discs look like the ones Nelly supplied to me when the carriers on my original cast iron discs wore beyond safe limits. There is a recess in the surface of the original disc carriers that the mounting bolts sit into, but there isn't one on those new ones so you need some bolts with smaller heads than the originals otherwise they will foul on the speedo drive. Nelly sorted some for me so he will know what you need. I found out when I spun the wheel on the paddock stand. If you fit them and then ride it without checking, it could be nasty.
Shit! Thanks mate that is very good advice! Tbh I'm on the look out for some ti or stainless bolts to replace the originals. Will have to do some homework...
Just received an email from ProBolt they've a 20% off offer this weekend, hopefully the link works: https://manage.kmail-lists.com/subs...D&k=31e9da098acdc4519361bfb7f334abf1&m=YpLLXj
