Can someone please recommend a part and supplier for a quality chain adjustment spanner. Double sided style. I know we've had some specially made on here. The search facility is great if you know EXACTLY what you are searching for. Sadly Chain brings up way too many threads as does spanner and adjustment. Thank you everyone.
Below is a quote from an old thread. AndyW is the chap who produced a batch or two of these spanners. Bought one myself and very good they are too. I'd contact Andy first but I'm not sure if he's making any more. Having said that you'll probably find somebody pops up offering theirs for sale. In view of the interest and a certain amount of arm twisting there will be another production run shortly! (this really will be the final one I do.....two much hassle;-) To incentivise myself a little the price is increased by £1 per spanner (only if posted) to: £23 inc p&p £20 collected ...or delivered at a meet somewhere e.g. Popham .....so I end up with a little more beer money in the kitty (hope nobody takes offence to that but honestly 'projects' like this are more hassle than you imagine!) ****************************************************************************** INFORMATION:The previous forum thread is worth a read through;-) Judging Interest - New Eccentric Hub/Chain Tension Adjuster Tool A bit on how and why this toll came about: Post one - New Eccentric Hub/Chain Tension Adjuster Tool GUIDE - 'how to' article on use of the 'C Spanner Plus' - quite likely unnecessary for most of you but please read anyway.....thanks Multistrada 1200 Chain Adjustment:MkII Eccentric Hub Adjuster tool aka "C Spanner Plus"......please let me know if you feel any changes / alterations should be made ;-) WHAT BIKES? - I believe that the 1098, 1198, streetfighter, and Diavel use the same eccentric hub as the MTS1200 but to date only have confirmation that the tool is suitable for the 1098 FEEDBACK.....on batch 1 starts here on the previous thread: http://ducatiforum.co.uk/f6/judging...sion-adjuster-tool-1794/index5.html#post23302 ****************************************************************************** TO ORDER: Please email me:Subject: Spanner...and include your: # forum user name # real name# address for posting PAYMENT: I will email you and request payment once I have enough people on the list and within a few days of the production being completed. (PayPal / Bank TF / Cash) .....I think that's everything covered!
I have one of those but do find it slips occasionally and is easy to bend. Any chance it could be slightly thicker material and have a couple more lugs on it for security? Happy to pay a bit more for one like that.
Very interested if such a thing is still available. I contacted Andy but he’s not making them nor are any available to his knowledge. eager to get one if still possible.
I got one from podium racing on eBay £17.99 and does the job fine for me. I cannot remember the seller but it was delivered in a couple of days and sent from UK not USA . If you look at podium racing website it’s USA based.
I though Andy gave the original design to Palmer Products, but I may be wrong? I've got one of Andy's ones and it works well
I’ve got one of Andy’s chain adjustment tools. Excellent quality and 100% improvement on original tool. Unfortunately Mutley has now gone to pastures new so I’ve no use for it. £20 includes postage to mainland UK - SOLD
That spanner also fits all the other Ducatis with the big hub SSA. I use the one that I got for the 1200 Multi on my Supersport. It also fits the 1098/1198 and many others.
I m using the Palmer products one piece version. No problems at all. Fits well, well made. Great tool
This is what I bought (I think) a chunk cheaper but perfectly functional I dipped the handle in plastidip I had to make it more comfortable, although wrapping in tape would do a similar job https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DUCATI-C...1200-950-MULTISTRADA-ENDURO-PRO-/223035624394
Another silly question: the gap between the jaws seems to be shorter that the radius of what they fit into. How does that go on?
