Has anyone used a DDA on an Apple Mac and know why I can't see the GPS map window? it teasing me by being hidden on the right hand side but when I try to slide it open it will not open?? PS - Hello from Almeria! bloody tricky track to get the hang of. Deffo no speed records on the first day, managed a 1 min 57sec which is not too fast! Should speed up as I learn the track over the next three days. First world problems
Dave. It overlays onto Google maps in the right hand side of the screen. Needs to be connected to the www I think to work. Love Almeria have a good and safe time.
Is no one here using the DDA? If there is , would somebody mind sending me a known good DDA file if I give you a dropbox link to send it to? I've installed the software on two Macs and a windows machine and the GPS map does not come up. I'm thinking perhaps it's the data that is to fault? I get GPS and DDA showing on the bikes screen when I activate it so I thought it was all good??
I've just found a screen shot in the help section of the App that shows a separate GPS channel which I am not getting when I download the data. It's odd because the GPS is definitely working as it shows GPS on screen and it automatically started and stopped the lap timer every time I went past the start/finish position on track.

Marco on ducati1299.com very kindly answered my question. I needed to download the flash update from the website. It says it's just for the supersport data acquisition kit but it's also for the GPS as well and it looks to have solved my problem. I can't tell for sure until the bike comes back from Spain but I'm optimistic. It's a shame I didn't have more time to test this before Spain as I was really looking forward to seeing the maps, but at least I have all the data still.
I saw that last week, a big saving if its something you're after but it's a lot of cash for stuff that I can't justify at the moment. I am making a lot of effort to understand the suspension and chassis better just now but it's just too much money.

No worries Dave, hopefully sorted now. I thought I was collecting the GPS data and would be able to look at it later once I'd sorted the App so didn't get too worried about it at the time. Bit gutted now I've found out otherwise but I've got all the other data anyhow.
Just thought I'd update this thread as everything is working now. A few months back the google maps overlay was not working despite the flash update. It turned out it was a Mac specific problem as all the data was present when loading onto a windows machine. I've just installed the latest software from Prosa who authored it and everything is now working. I'm not sure if it's an update or just didn't go on properly last time, I do have the earlier version on my other computer so I'll check later. It's pretty cool now it's all there. I can compare two runs which is the same as the free version of the Motec software that all the teams use. The Ducati GPS data doesn't seem all that accurate in places, it's like it loses itself now and again. Has anyone had this happen to them?
@Monners : Sorry for resurrecting this old thread but I'm facing exactly the same problem like you described above on my MAC. Can you be more specific how you solved it? I'm running already the latest version of the prosa software and I have a DDA with serial code 28620401B. According to the prosa website this DDA doesn't need the firmware update. I maybe should add that otherwise all works fine. The DDA records the data and the GPS also adds the lap times automatically to the data. I just can't see the GPS map. Also when choosing channels the "GPS embedded (spatial information)" channel that is shown in the help does not exist. Thanks in advance!

Hey mate, sorry but I don’t remember any more details. I think it just started working when I installed on the second Mac. I found the software too clunky so moved to other things when racing. I used iPhone apps with an external GPS for a little while on the R6 and the. 2D in then BMW.
Thanks for your reply. I was told in the FB-group named above that the DDA of the 1098 that I'm using is not saving any spatial information and therefore I don't see the map. According to that this feature is only available for newer bikes. For which bike were you using it?
I do have the additional GPS-receiver but according to the info I got it only registers the crossings of the finishing line to give you the lap-times and adds them to the data on the DDA (this works fine) but doesn't save any spatial information.

I was on the Panigale 1199. It sounds like the 1098 does not save the GPS location feed. That doesn't surprise me tbh as it's only really in the last five or so years that this stuff has become much more accessible and cheaper to produce. It you want the GPS location feed take a look at Racechrono on the iphone or Android and get yourself an external bluetooth GPS receiver. Its very straightforward to use and if you are just look for GPS data and lap times it is probably better than the Ducati system. It calculates your speeds from the GPS data and shows you braking an acceleration zones,etc. Its worth noting that on any of these systems the GPS is not accurate enough to make use of your racing line around the track. The downside of the phone apps is you dont have all the Can bus data like throttle position and revs which is a massive jump in capability once you start to analyse your riding but in my opinion you are better off using an Aim system with a cable harness to pick up that bike data. Overall the cost is about the same as the Ducati system for the lower end Aim , the software is much better, and you can move it to another bike later.
