Roma Doma

  1. I have put this on some other Ducati forums that I am a member of so if youve seen it already I do appologise. However some of you on here may know that in April of 2012, like a twonk, I fell off my ST in North Yorkshire. As a result I was air lifted into the RVI In Newcastle where it was found I had broken my back in three places, smashed eight ribs and needed a seven hour operation to insert two metal rods and twelve screws into my back to hold everything together. The care and treatment I got from the NHS both in Newcastle and here in Wakefield and Leeds was fantastic and without their expertise I would not be walking let alone cycling.

The great north air ambulance survives by charitable donation and because of this I am hoping to raise as much money for them as a thank you for getting me to hospital so quickly, without them I would have had to have a 45 minute ride in the back of an ambulance along some bumpy roads in north Yorkshire.

I am attempting to ride my Bicycle from Rome (Italy) to London (The dome of st. Paul’s) I am calling this ‘Roma Doma’ Its about 2000 Km’s and includes some of the mountains used on the ‘Tour de France’ so it will be very hard going. I hope to complete the ride in two weeks. I will have to or I will miss my train back from London.
Now, if you feel you can donate some money to the ‘Great North Air Ambulance’ then that would be really good. I didn’t think I would ever need them but one day I did, and they were there for me, so you never know one day you or one of your loved ones may need them too……

If you like you can donate here :-

    Many thanks.
    Chris.

  4. Sure is, but I have been gettingthe miles in for some weekes now. I manage between 150 and 250 miles a weeks dependant on weather and family. It wont count for anything I am sure once we get into the alps....... If anyone is passing on their bike and sees a nackerd old git struggling up the side of some mountain, stop and give me pillion...I will repay with beer:)

  5. I'm happy to donate, but youll have to wait until Friday when I get paid
