Hi everyone! I have the old 1200 but I need a little favor from the ones with the newer models: I need to replace my key fob (only the plastic part) because it is not waterproof anymore and these 10 years really did their job on the aesthetic's part. I saw someone with the dual spark model with the newer and more elegant model of the key fob, so I'd like to see if I can order that one and adapt the electronic board on my key. May I ask some photos of the inside of the key??? If someone did what I am planning to do is even better, but I found nothing on the internet so I need to examine one myself before buying the new one and try. Thank you!
Hello I had to change my failed key and although the dealer told me that the part code has changed, the key I got was the same (aesthetically and optically) to the old one. Also, mine was never waterproof. 1200 ABS '11 model.
Thank you for the reply, but I know for sure that someone has the newer key, I just need to see if the new one could be adapted to the old electronics. And you’re right, I said waterproof but it is probably just dust proof. The rubber on mine has completely gone anyway
Given mine only ever sits inside my jacket anyway (on a lanyard), it really doesn't matter if its waterproof or not. Its fairly easy to replace the case on the older fobs. If the older fobs dont have buttons, it should swap to a later case. If they DO have buttons - I doubt they will interchange.
