Morning all, Wondered if anyone knows of a cable converter to turn the white GPS plug at the front of the bike into a USB C to charge a modern phone instead? Thanks
Would an adaptor work instead? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Yinunerons...otorcycle+usb-c+adapter&qid=1600682342&sr=8-1
I dont know if anyone manufactures a cable, I made an adapter from the gps plug to a twin outlet with digi voltmeter to run both gps and charge phone with usb to usb c
I had one that went from 12v to Micro USB, all on one cable, like this. Was very neat and compact. Can't find a similar one for USB C though.
I hard wired a cigarette lighter socket under the seat direct to the battery (fused obviously) and plug a USB adaptor into that. From there I ran a USB cable under the seat and tank upto the front of the bike. Plug into that.
There's a socket on the right fairing as well as under the seat. I was thinking of plugging an adaptor in to there.
Maybe I'll wait until I get the bike and have a look around to see what the best option is. I ideally want to have my phone as the GPS using Calimoto for fun rides, but I can see it getting a bit deflated after hours of use, specially when trying to shine bright in direct sun.
Din Hella to USB plug. Problem solved, as respondents above have said. Goes straight into the socket to the right of the TFT screen converts to USB. Do a search on eBay, loads of them.
Thanks guys, bought a DIN to USB, should be ideal. I'll grab some pics of it fitted later this week once I collect the bike to report back how it looks and fits.
I have bought a few of those but they're big and not ideal. The easiest and cleanest is to just fish a USB / Micro cable from the USB jack under the pillion seat to the front. Moreover, it liberates the front Din jack for something else.
Completely. I did this and thought I was missing something important out based on all the other solutions - it works great, took about 20 mins to do it and make it secure, nice and neat, and I don’t have to worry about flattening the battery with anything connected direct etc etc. Good cable lengths cheap enough on Amazon that if they get damaged it’s a cheap replacement as well.
you could use the Ultimate Addons hard wire kit then use any of there adaptors to suit your needs. This link is for the kit and a usb c adaptor but you select from the drop down list. https://ultimateaddons.com/products...=1&_sid=5602f5eeb&_ss=r&variant=2935802265640
Welp, the DIN to USB adapter I bought seems to have blown a fuse, I was out for a ride today (5 hours!) and midway through, my phone stopped charging, none of the DIN ports nor USB port on the bike were working. Got home, tested the cable and it's working fine. The bike has a little orange warning sign at the top left of the screen. The adapter is a 4.8A jobbie, and in the manual it states that with the fog lights, those outlets are only rated up to 5A, so it looks as though the cheapy adapter didn't play well. I'll check the fuse tomorrow, anyone else had this issue?
Confirmed, the 10A fuse had blown, I guess having the fog lights on and my Samsung S20 Note Ultra charging at 4.8A must have spiked as the phone was probably drawing as much as it could. I'm going to look at an independent loop as being able to charge the phone is crucial.

Just keep it simple. An appropriate cable for your phone is all you need to connect it to the rear USB jack. https://www.amazon.co.uk/CABEPOW-Ch...uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl
