Aftermarket Sprockets.

  1. Hi All

I'm just changing my sprockets out and wondered if you had any opinions on whether the front rubber dampened ones are worth putting on? They're more or less the same money so is there any benefit.
Also, looking at Renthal and JT rear sprockets, it seem that I have to buy a new carrier and I would lose the 'hub shock absorbers' from the oem carrier. Surely this would not be a good idea on the road?

P.S. That nut was an absolute bitch to get off!

    Cheers.

  3. I'm sorry I'm being a complete numpty here. Even with the conversion I still use the old cush drive! For some reason I thought that it did away with them!!

  4. I’ve purchased the appropriate carrier now so all sorted.

I have undone the Cush bolt nuts to clean them up. I guess thread lock, do you happen to know the torque for those by any chance?

  6. I just put a new chain and sprocket kit on my 1198s.
In the kit was 2x JT sprockets (front was rubber bushed, silent sprocket)
    DID heavy duty chain-exact length.
    New alloy sprocket carrier.(quick change)
My front sprocket nut was tight as hell also.
