it's a small price to pay (it wasnt actually and took me three days to assemble, fecking hate DIY) for a wee space to call my own. i now have `11x 14ft of man cave big enough for the two i keep at home and the lads bike.
Diagnosing why my Pantah isn't charging. Static resistance checks on the stator and wiring all good. Dynamic check on output from alternator good. Suspected reg/rec failure. Not helped by a butchered and altered wiring loom. Ducati schematic helped a bit.
Started dismantling the 900ss bobber for a minor winter refurb. Did some measuring for the bracket I’ll be fabricating to also allow Carla the S4 special to be configured as a bobber as well as a streetfighter. Cleaned, lubed and adjusted the chain on the RS Bandit.
Transferred the exhausts back from the 916 to the 996 as they're borrowed for the last ride out, lol. Also i've now started dissecting the damaged termignoni exhausts as new sleeves are required, plus a bulb changeover.
This wasn't today but it serves as a reminder why you should always look for that fastener you dropped rather than replacing it. A few weeks back I was fitting a GoPro mount to the handlebars of my S4 special and I realised the bolt had gone awol. 30 mins of searching later (including removing the tank) and this is where I found it. It seems the little pod thingy had slipped off the mouth of the trumpet and that’s where the little bugger ended up. That isn't the first time that has happened either. I once lost a bolt when fitting an air filter to a Bandit 600 and after a 4 hour search, I eventually found it nestling against the closed inlet valve ready to be sucked in to the engine when next started up.
Any chance of more info and pics on this bike/project as it looks very interesting? It looks like it really deserves its own thread tbh
I have posted bits and bobs in various threads as I've been pottering on with it. Here is one of me with one of many versions of a wiring harness.....
Love that. Being mega picky, bottom yolk looks scruffy compared to the rest of the front end, but I guess you know that.
Resprayed the exhausts and put them on along with a new clutch cable. Fingers crossed will have it running in the next couple of weeks. Only taken the best part of two years, very slack.
Brought a carbon front sprocket cover for the multistrada now waiting for it to arrive And fitted my DP LED Indicators
