WTF was going on with that soldering Even for a complete novice that was shite. Obviously the guy didn't have a soldering iron. Must have used matches You're doing a fine job on that bike though
Fantastic write up - you don't hang around Just in case you don't already know him, Paul @PGP is just up the road in Eastleigh and is great if you need anything doing https://www.pgperformance.co.uk/ Neil
Popped into work this morning to get some stuff sorted for next week. Gave the swing arm a wash, not too bad, typical been run with a worn chain slipper but will get it apart and tig it up before I re-coat it
Cheers Gary, Had a PPG match mixed for the frame and wheels, rear shock "copper" is a mipa colour i chose from a chip at work and the rear spring is a random yellow powder I had here
Thanks Olly. I've just used dark bronze on my crank cases, paint came from r s paints ( 98 748 ) good match
Drop me a message if you want the lips codes or whatever, engine will get a re fresh once I have the chassis built up again
Swing arm stripped today after work after w nice wash. Will get this tigged up and then I can get it coated this weekend hopefully. Looking forward to more re-assembly! bought an oil cooler as I couldn’t find anything in half decent condition so will get that measured up against the oe one and then I can make that work too
Good progress today, all the bearings Removed. Ordered all new parts abs got swing arm coated. Have gone a slightly darker shade but think it’s going to look lovely with the yellow
This looks amazing I really need to carry on with mine but the situation doesn’t allow at the moment, your making me incredibly envious being able to crack on and get this all done. As has been said it’s going to look awesome when done.
Small update today, got all that last bits off of the frame, gave it a good wash and got it all blasted ready for masking and coating next week also had all the bearings arrive for the swing arm, new head races etc too the rear hight adjuster has seen better days so not sure if I’m going to make a new one of yet find a nice second hand one.
Finally! Zinc primer down first to help prevent any rust looking forward, gold base, wet paint match and satin clear
