  1. RIP Maradona. A little guy who packed a lot into his short life. Truly gifted player who on his best day couldn't be stopped by anyone.

  2. Why?

  3. Starts with C, ends in heat, I’d imagine?

  4. A stat i remember.. while at Napoli where he helped them to their only two titles Argentina were to play Italy in the Semi final of the World cup at Napoli's San Paulo ground.. On the day it was said half of Napoli wanted Maradona to beat Italy... Incredible X

  5. Let me help you. Maradona was far better than Pele.

  6. Pele talks out his arse. I remember him stating in a God like way that an African nation would win the World Cup before the year 2000:laughing: That was back in 1990 when Cameroon gave England a game in the quarter finals.

  7. And George Best was a better player.

  8. Well, Maradona was quoted as saying George Best was an inspiration, both were great dribblers and that created magic. Something along those lines.

2 great players quoting George Best.

  9. I loved watching him in the James bond films and fantasy island.
    “boss boss its the plane”

  10. Diego Maradona, absolute f***ing legend, his legacy is a history of some of the most sublime football ever seen, along with some of the greatest acts of compassion from someone who as flawed as he was never ever forgot his roots, his struggles and the people still living in poverty ....

Most of my family are from the outskirts of Naples and there are stories abound of his generosity and empathy, one of those relates to a poor family that approached Napoli his club at the time for some help towards an operation their child needed, maybe a couple of tickets they could sell or a signed shirt they could auction, the club turned them down, Maradona found out and without the clubs knowledge organised a game in a local park, the teams played with the pitch lit by the cars that surrounded it and he brought most of the Napoli 1st team with him ..... that young kid got hi op.

There is a reason that every poor neighbourhood in Naples has a Maradona mural.

Yes he was flawed, yes he made some life choices that were at odds with his talent, but he never shat on the little man, as he was one of them, and he never wasted a drop of his talent, his medal haul is testament to that.

Watch the vid below, in old school Puma King boots, laces undone and a ball that weighs about the same as a Diavel, and all because he could, and he knew the fans would smile if he did ..... thats Maradona ....
