doesn’t this mean they have the power to run how they see fit, and build, their own transport network? Powers of the Senedd[edit] The Senedd has the competence to pass bills for Acts of the Senedd in all areas which are not explicitly reserved to Westminster, these 'reserved matters' are outlined in schedule 7A of the Government of Wales Act 2006.[53] This means the Senedd has powers over areas such as: Agriculture, fisheries, forestry and rural development Culture Economic development Education and training Environment Health and health services Highways and transport Local government Tourism Welsh language
I'm confused. Easily done this time of the night. This thread went from Nissan pulling out of the NE to 'look how lucky the NE are, BritishVolt are relocating there' to the state of the transport infrastructure in Wales. Who says Nissan are pulling out? Are BritishVolt definitely relocating to the NE and if so is that an additional factor or is Wales looked coz they're pulling out of Wales? What the food has any of that got to do with the state of transport in Wales?
Thanks Bradders I'm happy where I am in locality and stage of life. Most of my comments are made in concern for others like my immediate family, and the likes of yourself who still have to earn a living.
Conversational drift I’m afraid, unless peeps think the rationale for deciding to move production to NE is purely down to logistics of the product.
Last month, Nissan described their UK future as unsustainable with no deal. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-54986195
Didn’t they do that just before the referendum, say they’d go if the vote was leave ? Could even be the same article, with a bit of ‘find and replace’ done.
This. Reasons why a manf may choose NE over Wales. Added to that if France don’t play ball post brexit Netherlands will so access to Europe crossings are closer and easier.
IF Wales was to be Independent, France is very close to our shoreline the same as it is in Ireland. Just saying.
The rules will be the same whichever EU port is chosen. DFDS have announced additional sailings from southern Ireland to France from 1st January so that traffic can bypass England. NI will be the place to be to export to the EU from January
Not as close as England mate. If you lot vote for independence we’ll just tarmac Wales and have it as our car park
