Hopefully the title makes sense? I've got loads of allen keys, a set of Bergen hex bit sockets and what's in my Halfords screwdriver set. I fancy a set of hex keys with handles like proper mechanics use. Any suggestions for a brand that's not too pricey but reasonable quality? Thanks Neil
Thanks - Yes. How about this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Teng-TTHEX...=1608242680&sprefix=Teng+T+bar,aps,159&sr=8-1 Cheers Neil
Teng are good but WERA hex plus are the mutts. Not sure if they are available in t handle but I have both the L set and socket set. The L set is exemplary.
Thanks, choices! https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wera-Multi...&keywords=WERA+hex+plus&qid=1608243159&sr=8-3 I've not come across the ballpoint head thing before? Cheers Neil
Very helpful in tight spaces to spin a bolt out once it is broken free. Not used to exert maximum torque. The scalloped edges give a massively positive feel and they are very good value. Advert over.
The set you have linked to handles every Allen bolt on the 748 apart from the 14mm swing arm bolt. My set has been with me and used and abused for two years Including 3 bike strip downs and rebuilds. I have bent one of the small keys (3mm?) in that time but it is still better than any other one I have. I like Halfords Pro tools but won’t use their hex keys on my bike as they are not precise enough.
Wiha - good mix of quality and price, have had mine 4 years+ now and haven’t worn or rounded (and I have a Ducati so I use them lol). There is also a 1/4” bit holder version for your Halfords kits etc that is useful to keep around for the less used ones like torx etc. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wiha-26247...69&hvtargid=pla-450712514364&psc=1&th=1&psc=1 bit handle:- https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wiha-388-T...ocphy=1006969&hvtargid=pla-422743649905&psc=1
I have had a set of USAG ones for years. They bring me great joy. Same as these from Facom (I think USAG may have become part of Facom) - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Facom-To...992455?hash=item5410da4387:g:TScAAOSwsIFctFnv
Teng T bars for me, ball end on the long arm and standard end on the short arm. An ergonomic handle bright red and yellow so easy to locate. Not cheap but excellent quality.
got my Tenges tools set with a pb mag subscription they have done greta work and would recommend them
