Will be receiving this early Jan Would be very appreciative of any help and info. It was sold as a 250ts. Yet I cant find any info in this? 250 monza, but is the ts a model of the monza? Will be looking for a trusted person to restore engine, any recommendations? Paint in gray at present, does they produce these in red, I want to keep and restore to original but do love the red classics . Many thanks andy
Fair play to you mate you’ve got a job on there me thinks. I would give Luigi Moto a shout about the engine, he’s near to you too It would be great to see it done up
Ooops! Typo there meant the Monza was introduced in 1961. The Monza, oddly, was the touring model and introduced at the same time was the Diana, sold in Britain as the Daytona, which was the sports model. That side panel is from either a Monza or Daytona (Diana).
Can be red but Monza orange was my favourite from that era. I preferred alloy front and rear mudguards. Was the fastest 250 of the time. I balanced up the crank dynamically and blueprinted the motor. Alloy tank, clip on bars and a 7 inch headlight on alloy mounts. I do not remember a 250ts, I think there was a 160 and a 200? 45 years ago so memory a bit weak. Super light bike with Alloy wheels. I was a fat bastard with size 12 feet and 6'1" must have looked like a chimp at the circus. Happy days
I will contact ducati with engine number and frame, guess they will be able to confirm what model it is. Is there any obvious difference?
